Suede Foil Stamping Fabric adds a touch of glamour to your products

Foil Stamping adds a touch of glitz and glamour to your products. It elevates your brand with a shiny, textured look that can be enhanced with embossing and debossing.
Foil stamping creates a high-end look that elevates any product. It's used to add a touch of elegance to book covers, to increase the appeal of gift cards or invitations, and even to make ID cards seem more sophisticated.

Foils are available in a wide variety of colors and finishes. The most common is metalized foil, which produces a metallic shine and shimmer. Other popular options include matte pigment foils (available in a wide range of deep solid colors) and special effect foils, like leathers, pearls or wood grains that offer texture and appearance.

When choosing foil for a cover, it's important to consider that the foil cannot overlap CMYK printed areas, and that it is best to keep the foiled area smaller than the cover size. Also, foil coverage should not exceed 50% of the cover area, as this can lead to cracking. For additional information, consult with an Oliver account manager.
Leather

Traditionally used for luxury and anti-counterfeiting measures in the fashion industry, foil stamping can also be applied to leather products. Typically, this is done to add a decorative finish or a logo.

In this process, a heated die is forced against the surface of the leather using pressure. This heat activates the adhesive sizing on the foil, which bonds with the pre-treated surface of the leather.

The most common types of foil are gold and silver. Other colors are available as well, depending on the needs of a specific project.

When it comes to applying the foil, it’s important to line up the embossing plate precisely where you want it to appear on the leather. You’ll want to make sure the plate is lined up correctly and that it’s not bowed or warped before you hit it with a mallet. The quality of the leather, the type and color of glue, and the fixation process will all affect the foil transfer.
If you have a gold or silver initial stamp on leather that is proving stubborn to remove, try rubbing it with fragrance-free baby lotion. If this fails to work, you can use rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or makeup cleaner. If possible, remove the foil before it starts to flake off and then rub it with a leather moisturizer to make it look like new again.
For fabrics and textiles that are difficult to foil on, a specialist foil is available with a higher adherence rate to rough surfaces. KURZ offers a wide portfolio of foils for this type of application including metallized colors to create metal effects.
Foiling on fabric can add a premium feel to any product. It’s used on everything from wedding invitation cards to business stationery and holiday greeting cards. The process is similar to printing, in that the image or letters are stamped into the surface and then heated. The heat causes the foil to adhere.
Foil stamping is a printing technique that has been used for decades to make product packaging and printed materials more eye-catching. It adds a shimmering metallic effect to your products and print, and it is very versatile with a variety of colors.
